American Idol will ever die

Rasual Butler (38), Leah LaBelle (31): NBA dream couple dies after an accident

The Range Rover, stranded in the parking lot of a department store on Ventura Boulevard, looked only faintly like an SUV. What was left was a pile of crumpled metal with crooked wheels. A completely deformed car that gave no hope. Former NBA star Rasual Butler (38) and his wife, 31-year-old singer Leah LaBelle, were killed in this terrible accident in Los Angeles’s Studio City.

The couple is believed to have been walking around town way too fast around 2:30 in the morning. It is not yet known who was behind the wheel of the two. However, there are clear indications of what caused the death of the basketball player and the R&B singer.

According to estimates by witnesses, the car could have been up to 150 km / h. In the area where Butler and LaBelle died, signs specifically ordered a speed limit of 50 km / h because the route led to a curve that was initially moderate, but ended up being sharp.

Investigators order an autopsy of the bodies

"It seems to be a tragic case in which a car was moving too fast," said a police spokesman. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The unlucky couple had therefore lost control of their car, hit three parking meters and a concrete wall before overturning twice. The two were found dead at the scene of the accident, the investigators said. An autopsy of the bodies was ordered.
