What's your favorite book about Project Gutenberg

Books - novels, thrillers, and more about your favorite books

Ebooks have been on the rise for a long time. But the digital version of a book for almost the same price as a real copy lets many, luckily, still pick up the right book. I think the Gutenberg project is a great variant of the ebooks.

You can now find 30,000 works here, including around 4,000 German-language, free read, download, and even have them sent to your cell phone.

The idea of the Gutenberg project is based on giving everyone access to literature, regardless of commercial means. Of course, this is only possible with Works where the copyright has expired, or where the author has already approved such a publication. But you will be amazed at how many books this is the case. So you can get a number of classics for free.

Michael Hart started the project in 1971 and gave it the name of German printer Johannes Gutenbergwho invented movable type printing in the 15th century, revolutionizing and simplifying the spread of the printed word.

In Germany, the Gutenberg project in Cooperation with the mirror looked after, you can participate yourselfby, for example, writing texts about authors, proofreading pages or submitting works. All for free, of course ...

So you better have a look at gutenberg.de yourself ... Have fun exploring!
